Sell your pram: Our top tips
- Give it a good clean- Warm soapy water on the frame, sponge the fabrics, or wash them in the machine or by hand if they are removable.
- Remove mould spots: If there are mildew spots on it from storing in a shed then Dettol Mould and Mildew Remover should do the job. Test an inconspicuous area to start with, then spray on and leave for about 15 minutes...... the spots should magically disappear!
- Check for worn or damaged parts. You will sell your pram for more if you pump up the tyres and replace that ripped shopping basket. Many spare parts are pretty cheap to buy and can be bought direct from the manufacturer.
- Find the instructions. The advantage of selling your pram at a mum2mum market is that you can give a live demo to the buyer, but they will still want the instructions. If you can't find the original version download a replacement from the manufacturers website or try here
- Sort out all you accessories and decide if you want to sell your foot muff, sunshade and travel bag as a bundle or split them up. Make sure you include the raincover with the used pushchair.
- Decide how much you want to charge. 30-50% of the new price is probably a reasonable expectation if the used pushchair is in really good condition. Don't forget that at a mum2mum market nearly new sale you keep 100% of the sale price- we don't take a cut.
- Take a quick photo and either post it to your local mum2mum market facebook page, or email it to the organiser with a guide to how much you will be charging so we can promote it before the sale and potential buyers can bring enough cash!
- If you haven't used it for a while have a practice folding and unfolding the pushchair so you can demonstrate to your buyer
- Bring the pram to the mum2mum market with a sign stating the make and model, price, attractive features and what accessories are included. Make your sign big, bold and eye catching. Don't forget you will be busy serving your other customers too!
