You can sell any secondhand baby and children's items that are aimed at babies and children aged 0-6 or pregnant women.
All items must be secondhand and in good condition.
How much money will I make?
This depends largely on you. We run an extensive marketing campaign in the run up to each sale and attract large numbers of buyers to the sale. It is up to you to sell to them. This involves getting your pricing and presentation right. Our sellers tips will tell you everything you need to know..... please read them!
At every sale the sellers who make the most money are the ones who have read the sellers tips and followed our advice!

What does my booking include?
A trestle table 1.8m by 0.7m and space up to 0.7m wide at one side to display a large item OR a clothes rail. Chairs are available if you require one.
At some venues clothes rails are available to hire from us. These are standard sized rails 84cm wide and height adjustable. We do not supply hangers with the rail hire. Most people find it convenient to bring clothes to the sale already on hangers.
The stall fee also contributes to the cost of the venue and table hire and an extensive marketing campaign to attract buyers to the sale. All our events are covered by public liabilty insurance.
Do I have to pay by paypal?
All stalls need to be booked through our website . You don't need a paypal account you can choose to pay by a variety of cards at the checkout stage if you prefer. BOOK A STALL
Can you help me with pricing and presentation?
Absolutely! We send out our sellers tips 2 weeks before each sale and give very specific advice. Consistently the most profitable sellers are those that followed our advice- please read the sellers tips!
Can I share a stall with a friend?
Yes you can, but please make sure the combined amount you bring does not overload your stall as this will have a detrimental effect on your sales
Can dads sell at a mum2mum market?
Of course! We have had a few dad sellers and grandmas and you are most welcome!
I have loads to sell! Can I have more space?
Our best advice is to book another stall at a subsequent mum2mum market. You need to be realistic about how much it is possible to sell at one event. It is simply not possible to sell all the baby and children's goods you have accumulate for even one child at a single sale and most people will need to sell at multiple sales.
Please don’t bring too much with you. Buyers find it off putting if your stall is piled high, or with items piled on the floor around it. They won’t buy from you and will spend their money on the stalls that are better presented and more accessible. The top sellers are never those who bring the most stuff!
Our markets are generally fully booked and we need to stick to the pitch size allocated for health and safety reasons so we won’t be able to give you extra space on the day if you bring too much.
What sells best at a mum2mum market?
Secondhand baby equipment, larger toys like walkers/ jumperoos and ride-ons, Dvds, small toys and games for all ages. Bedding, sheets, towels and grobags are always popular as well as coats, wellies, waterproofs and designer clothing.
You must be realistic with your pricing. If you price too high people will not buy from you.
What doesn’t sell at a mum2mum market?
Anything which is ripped, stained, grubby, broken, in poor condition or with missing parts will not sell and may well put buyers off your stall altogether. If we see items on your stall that are not up to scratch we will ask you to remove them.
Soft toys do not sell well.
Secondhand baby and children's clothes are the least profitable items to sell. They need to be priced cheaply as there is always loads of choice at each sale and they can be bought very cheaply new.
Can I sell secondhand car seats?
Yes you can as some people want to buy them.
We make it clear on the website that it is not recommended to use a secondhand car seat and the market for them is small. You should also be aware that you can buy cheaper branded car seats for £25 new so it is extremely unlikely that a buyer will pay more than £20 for a secondhand one however much it cost new.
I have new/unused items. Can I sell them at a mum2mum market?
If you have a few unwanted gifts or baby clothes that never got worn then you are welcome to sell them on your stall as long as the majority of goods are nearly new and if the new items were not purchased with the intention of reselling.
If you are a business, or want to have a stall where the majority of goods are new, or selling any goods which have been made or purchased with the intention of selling, then please contact us to discuss.
Mum2mum market is a nearly-new market, our buyers expect to find nearly-new goods and we have only a couple of spaces at each sale for business sellers.
How do I become a top seller?
At every sale some people do very well and some don’t- so what do top sellers have in common? They:
- Read the sellers tips and follow the advice
- Price sensibly
- Don’t bring too much
- Are selective about what they sell- only good brands in great condition, a mix of clothes and other goods with a seasonal focus and suitable for a range of ages
- Read the sellers tips and follow the advice (can’t repeat it enough!)
Can I have some leaflets/ posters to hand out?
Yes you can! All sellers get a handful of flyers before the sale but if you want more just let us know and we will pop some in the post to you.
