Is imitation the sincerest form of flattery?
So, it came to my attention in the last few days that someone who runs similar sales in a different part of the country has been stealing my mum2mum market blog posts and passing them off as their own work! Irritating, to say the least. And illegal. Can you believe it? As an orgainser of nearly new sales themselves I would have expected that they would have their own thoughts on the best way to sell baby and children’s goods- but no, they had to steal my thoughts instead. They have of course added a few lines here and there- which stand out a mile as they are littered with spelling mistakes! There are a million myths about copyright from whether work on the internet is copyrighted at all (it is) and whether you need to use the copyright symbol to be protected (you don’t). So is there anything you can actually do about it? Absolutely. An initial contact Of course litigation is can be financially costly, so it helps enormously if you have a copyright lawyer for a husband :-) So for anyone reading this blog post with the intention of stealing it….. please don’t. If you would like to share it,giving mum2mum market the credit for writing it, and a link to our website, go ahead…. But please don’t pass my work off as my own. Rant over and I will leave the Legal Eagles to do their stuff! Comments are closed.
